The XFL Draft is right around the corner, and we’re just now learning what the league’s base salary is going to be.
NFL Networks Mike Garafolo tweeted that the league had sent a memo to agents of prospective players detailing everything.
Players will be paid on a bi-weekly basis at $2,080 per pay check starting in December. There are activation fees (i.e. game checks) during the season of $1,685 and victory bonuses of $2,222.
The league projects the average salary for a player (taking into account in-season bonuses) to be $55k. Players who sign XFL contracts are full-time employees through the completion of the season. They're free to sign NFL contracts after the championship game on Apr. 25.

This means the average salary in the XFL will be $55k. We’ve also learned a little more on the players obligations. Once they sign a contract with the XFL, they are obligated to finish out the season. They can only accept an NFL contract after the championship game.
Thanks to NFL Draft Diamonds, we have a copy of the memo.

This base salary is slightly lower than the AAF, but this also doesn’t account for tier 1 quarterback pay and other situational salaries.
