Elite national flag football teams from throughout Europe will be converging on Poland on December 17 as the Polish American Football Federation holds its first ever Winter International Flag Football Tournament at MOSiR Zabrze Hall in the city of Zabrze.
The Polish Flag National Team will be facing their biggest challenge yet as the lineup of teams arriving will include major European flag football nations. Apart from Team Poland’s senior and U19 men’s teams, the Lithuanian national team has been confirmed. The organizers will be revealing the names of the other national teams competing in this major event on social media as they are confirmed.
The tournament, which will kick off at 12 noon on December 17, will be played in a round robin format with each team facing each other once.
Daniel Piechnik, head coach of the Polish National Flag Football Team:
“This tournament is a test that closes the first stage of building the Polish National Team, which is to compete in the biggest international competitions in the future. From the beginning I said that I want to build a team of the future and I am happy that we will see not one, but two Team Poland squads on the field in Zabrze (senior + u19). Thanks to this, each player who appeared at the training camps held this past autumn will have the opportunity to show himself to both coaches and fans. I think that a few players whose names are not yet well known may surprise everyone positively.”
