With the French Federation of American Football regular season over the wild card playoff round kicks off the post season this weekend.
The Thonon Black Panthers marched through the regular season in the South Division with a 10-0 record and by far the highest scoring offense in the country averaging 42.5 points a game. As first place finishers in the South, Thonon earned a bye into the second round of the playoffs. The Asnieres Molosses earned the same right by winning the North Division with an 8-0-2 record. While the Black Panthers relied on an explosive offense, Asnieres boasted by far the stingiest defense allowing just 48 points in 10 games.
Wild Card Round
The Marseille Blue Stars finished the year with a 7-3 record and in second place in the South. They will take on the Saint-Ouen L’Aumône Cougars, third place finishers in the North Division. The Cougars ended the year with a 6-4 record. In the other wild card game, the Amiens Spartiates, who wound up in second in the North with a 6-3-1 record, will face the 6-4 Grenoble Centaures, who needed a win in their final game of the regular season against Marseille, to qualify for post season play.

Thonon will face the winner of the Amiens-Grenoble game in one semifinal while the Molosses’ opponent in the other semifinal will be either Marseille or Saint-Ouen.
