The West Australia Raiders defeated the South China All Stars 34-8 on the weekend making it their second win against South Asian teams in two years. The Raiders overwhelmed the Philippines Aguilas in 2014.
The Raiders took an early lead and never looked back. The All Stars, composed of players from five different teams from in and around the Hong Kong area had never played together before and it showed. The Raiders kept them off the scoreboard in the first half scoring three touchdowns to take a 21-0 lead.
Interestingly, they converted all three touchdown using dropkicks. In fact, they scored four of five PATs with dropkicks.
The All Star squad began clicking together in the second half but not before WA had extended the lead to 34-0. South China finally drove the length of the field late in the contest to score behind the running of Terry Sibanda and pass catching of tight end Dandy Dealino.
