Watch a 330-Pound LSU Football Commit Kardell Thomas Anchor the 4×100
Speed is not usually associated with offensive linemen. They are big and strong, but generally not fast. Well, Baton Rouge Southern University Lab School offensive tackle Kardell Thomas is not your typical lineman. Not because he isn’t big or strong, but because he is really fast.
How fast? Fast enough to anchor his school’s 4×100 track team.
During a recent track meet, the 6-foot-4, 328-pound athlete grabbed the baton for the final leg of the race and took off. He was in first place at the time and he looked incredibly fast for his size. After the halfway mark, he got passed by a competitor, but he was able to secure second place

Although he has played only one season of high school football, Thomas is already getting offers from top football programs. The class of 2019 4-star recruit has verbally committed to LSU, but he’s also receiving offers from Alabama, Florida State and Georgia.
According to USA Today High School Sports, Thomas has acquired the nickname “Mr. Pancake.” That’s because someone who can bench 400 pounds twice and run as fast as he can is going to pancake some people.
