USFL: Philadelphia Stars sign former UNC Crusaders RB Seth Rowland
The Philadelphia Stars of the USFL have announced the signing of former Tennessee State running back Seth Rowland who played for the UNC Crusaders in Finland’s Maple League in 2023.
The 5’7″, 185-pound, 27-year-old Rowland from Brentwood, Tennessee had an outstanding season with the Crusaders, his second year in Finland’s top league, rushing for 1,245 yards and 12 touchdowns. He was a 1st Team All Star and also named the top kick returner in the Maple League. He arrived in Finland in 2022 where in five games with the Porvoon Butchers he rushed for 418 yards and five touchdowns.

Rowland played collegiately at Tennessee State from 2016-2019. In 2017, he rushed for 421 yards on 94 carries, notching two touchdowns. During his senior season in 2019, Rowland made an impact both offensively, and on special teams. He played in all 12 games, posting 427 rushing yards and three touchdowns en route to what was a successful final year at Tennessee State.
The Stars finished the 2023 season with a 4-6 record.
Rowland will be joining his brother Chris who was signed by the Stars as a wide receiver.
