Three teams still unbeaten in Spain

The Badalona Dracs, Murcia Cobras and Las Rozas Black Demons remain undefeated in the 14 team Spanish American Football League (LNFA) after four weeks of play.

The Dracs continue to dominate the Group A division of the LNFA with a 48-6 trouncing of the previously undefeated Valencia Firebats. Brandon Ravenel scored four touchdowns for Badalona, two receiving and two rushing while Lorenzo Melchiorre added two more on the ground and threw a touchdown pass. Javier Garcia also returned an interception for a touchdown.  Dracs quarterback Sergi Gonzalo threw for 216 yards.

Valencia quarterback Alexander McKean scored a rushing touchdown to account for the Firebats scoring. McKean had a tough day in his first game under center for the Firebats throwing four interceptions.

In Murcia, the Cobras raced out to a 35-0 first half lead and then cruised to a 48-8 victory. Granada’s lone score came when Diego Garcia scoring on a spectacular kickoff return touchdown. Murcia quarterback Angel Clemente threw five touchdown passes to Corey Holmes, four of them in the first half. Jorge Escudero also recovered a fumble and returned it for a touchdown and running back  José Antonio Sotomayor added a second half touchdown.

Murcia leads Group B with a 4-0 record.

In Group C action, LG Oled Las Rozas Black Demons notched their fourth straight win whipping the Santurtzi Coyotes 41-0 with quarterback Jason Gaines throwing four touchdown passes, three of them to German receiver André Feuerherdt. Running back Marcos de la Mata scored two touchdowns while Sergio Condés also caught a touchdown pass.

In other action, Madrid’s Osos Rivas blanked the Santiago Black Ravens 46-0 to hold on to second place in Group C while the 2-1 Valencia Giants downed the winless Alicante Sharks 28-6  in Group B play.
