Find out how football is growing internationally and also how you can be a part of it at the 2015 AFCA convention.
Without question, the AFCA – American Football Coaches Association – convention is always one of the best places for football coaches to network every year and this year’s edition is no exception. But with the added twist that these three speakers – Larry Legault, Kaoru Kubota and Stan Bedwell – will be on hand to offer their knowledge and perspectives on how the game is growing and developing outside of the United States and Canada.
Larry Legault – the highly successful coach of the two-time national champions in France’s top division – the Thonon-les-bains Black Panthers – as well as the head coach of Team France – the French national senior team – for over a decade, will share his thoughts on organizing and solidifying programs at all levels of the sport.
Coach Kaoru Kubota from Japan will explain how American football has become a hugely popular sport in Japan at the club and university levels as well as how US-based games are viewed and influence young men in Japan. He is a renowned TV analyst for American football broadcasts in Japan and founder of the QB Club, Inc. in Japan.
Coach Stan Bedwell has played and coached teams throughout Europe and in India too. He has had great success taking over struggling club teams in and instilling in them the organization, structure and spirit to compete for and win championships. He currently coaches the Lazio Marines in Italy. He is widely known and respected in international football circles.
At the behest of the AFCA, Coach Jim Barnes of American Football Worldwide has organized and will moderate the International Session.
