With no live games going on, what games from Europe would you like to see?
We would like to find out what you think have been the best American football games in Europe since 2010.
And there have been plenty.
Here’s six that come to mind.
How about German Bowl XXXIX in 2017 when the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns knocked off the Braunschweig New Yorker Lions in their attempt to five-peat. The Unicorns needed a last-second field goal block by linebacker Devin Benton to down Braunschweig 14-13.
Or Eurobowl XXIV in 2010? The Berlin Adler downed the Vienna Vikings 34-31 on a walk-off 50-yard field goal on the last play of the game.
The 2018 Austrian Bowl is definitely worthy of being on the list. The Swarco Raiders defeated the Dacia Vienna Vikings 51-48 when Thomas Pichlmann kicked the game-winning field goal with three seconds left giving Swarco its fifth Austrian title.
The Central European Football League final in 2019, CEFL Bowl, was once for the ages with the huge underdogs, Switzerland’s Calanda Broncos pushing the defending champions, the Swarco Raiders to the limit. Swarco then displayed championship form exploding for four touchdowns in the fourth quarter coming away with a 46-42 win.
The Swedish championship final in 2018 featured the defending champion Carlstad Crusaders looking to win their ninth in a row, facing the team that had last won the Swedish title before the Carlstad run, the Stockholm Mean Machines. The two teams battled toe to toe with Stockholm holding off a late Crusaders surge to win 42-41.
