Team Hungary HC Dan Pippin offers his thoughts ahead of historic game versus Austria
Coach Dan Pippin took over as the Hungarian National Team coach back in March and now has his team looking to make some noise against a formidable opponent today in Team Austria in the Hungarians‘ first game in the IFAF Group A European Qualification tournament.
Team Hungary advanced to International Federation of American Football, IFAF, European Championship Group A (the top echelon of European national teams) in 2021 after dominating Group B which included Spain, Israel, Belgium and Turkey.
Pippin joined the Hungarian team after being the head coach of the Lazio Ducks in Rome Italy. Before taking his coaching talents abroad, Pippin was an accomplished coach in the United States after having spent 28 years coaching high school football in South Carolina at Aiken, Greenwood, and North Augusta. In the heart of the South, Pippin was a fixture in the competitive South Carolina high school football scene. During his various coaching tenures, Pippin produced multiple NFL players and dozens of Division 1 recruits. Most recently, he spent this fall coaching at Rochester Community and Technical College in Minnesota’s junior college league.
We sat down with coach Pippin prior to today’s big game for a quick Q&A.
