Swedish Superserien adds Copenhagen Towers, expands to 9 teams in 3 conferences

The Swedish Superserien has announced the addition of Danish champions, the Copenhagen Towers, to the league, expanding it to a total of nine teams for the 2025 season.

The Towers will join the seven Swedish teams who competed in the Superserien in 2024 – AIK, the Carlstad Crusaders, Kristianstad Predators, Limhamn Griffins, Stockholm Mean Machines, Tyresö Royal Crowns and Örebro Black Knights plus Norway’s Oslo Vikings.

In 2024, the championship was won by Carlstad Crusaders who defeated Stockholm Mean Machines in the final 51–22.

The Towers who were founded in 1990 and have played in the Danish National League ever since, wrapped up the 2024 Danish season with an unblemished 8-0 regular season record before winning the title. Copenhagen has won the last four Danish championships and a total of 12 overall and has not lost a game in Denmark since 2022.

For 2025, the Superserien will be divided into three conferences with three teams in each conference. The Copenhagen Towers, Kristianstad Predators and Limhamn Griffins make up the Southern conference while the Carlstad Crusaders, Oslo Vikings and Örebro Black Knights will play in the Western conference. Finally, the three Stockholm-based teams – AIK, the Stockholm Mean Machines and the Tyresö Royal Crowns – will form the Eastern conference.

The teams within the conferences will play each other at home and away while, according to the proposed scheduling structure, the teams will face two of the teams in the other conferences with two of these games being played at home and two away. So each team will play a total of eight games, half of which will be played within the teams’ own conference.

Further information on the schedule for the Men’s Super Series 2025 will be published shortly. The 2025 Swedish Championship Game will be played at Sola Arena in Karlstad.
