Swedish playoffs get underway with two matchups

The Swedish Superserien heads into the post season this weekend as the “wild card” playoffs kick off.

The Tyresö Royal Crowns who finished third during the regular season with a 5-2 record will face the number six ranked Limhamn Griffins (2-5). In the other matchup, the Örebro Black Knights (3-4) who wound up in fourth will play host to the number five ranked Oslo Vikings (3-4).

Oslo Vikings @ Örebro Black Knights

These two teams faced each other early in the season in Örebro with the Black Knights coming away with a 31-19 victory. With two of the top five quarterbacks in the league facing each other, Örebro’s Trevor Vasey and CJ Fowler from Oslo, this could be an exciting matchup.

Limhamn Griffins @ Tyresö Royal Crowns

Tyresö defeated the Griffins 35-0 in the regular season game between the two teams and even though Limhamn is playing better football now, they will still have a difficult challenge. The Royal Crowns offense will be too much for the Griffins to handle.
