Sweden: Örebro Black Knights sign Will Alexander as QB coach

The Örebro Black Knights have announced the signing of former Div. II quarterback Will Alexander as their new quarterback coach for the 2025 Swedish Superserien season.

The native of Bakersfield, California spent the 2024 season playing for the Gijon Mariners in Spain’s Liga Nacional de Fútbol Americano where in six games he threw for 849 yards and four touchdowns before getting hurt. He also served as an assistant coach with the Mariners while helping to develop offensive game plans.

He arrived in Spain after spending two years at Clarion University (NCAA Div. II) where he completed 75 of 145 passes for 959 yards and four touchdowns while rushing for 155 yards and five scores. Before his two seasons at Clarion, he spent four years at Elon University in North Carolina as a backup quarterback. He graduated from Clarion with an MBA before heading to Spain.

Needless to say, Alexander is excited about the opportunity:

“My view of football and part of the reason why I love the game is that it is the ultimate team sport. In any given play, 10 players must give their maximum effort and execute their job so that one player may make the play and the team may be successful, and that happens on every play throughout the game. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to come to a such a prestigious program as the Black Knights to begin my coaching career, and I will do anything and everything I can to help the team succeed.”
