Sweden: Örebro Black Knights sign Czech national team RB Jakub Brezina

The Örebro Black Knights have announced the signing of Czech running back Jakub Brezina for the 2025 Swedish Superserien season.

The 5-9, 176 pound, 25 year old native of Ostrava, Czech Republic, spent the 2024 season with the Prague Black Panthers helping the team win their first ever Austrian Football League championship. He rushed for 716 yards and five touchdowns in 10 regular season games last year good for second overall in the AFL.

From 2015 to 2023 he played for his hometown Ostrava Steelers helping them reach the Czech title game four times. This past season, as the starting running back for the Czech National Team, Brezina was a key to a decisive 14-7 victory over Team France in the 2024/2025 IFAF European Championship tournament. The win earned the Czechs the right to play for fifth place overall in 2025, the highest ranking ever achieved by a Czech team.
