Sweden: Örebro Black Knights crush Limhamn Griffins in Superserien rout

The Örebro Black Knights (2-0) cemented their early-season dominance with a 44-0 shutout of the Limhamn Griffins (1-2) in the Swedish Superserien, delivering a masterclass in all phases at Behrn Arena this past weekend.
Dominant first half display
The Black Knights set the tone immediately, blocking Limhamn’s opening punt as Rikard Carlsson scooped the loose ball for a touchdown. RB Jakub Brezina (1 TD) then powered in a 12-yard rushing score after a short field setup by the stifling defense. QB Viktor Ekberg (3 passing TDs) connected with Jesper Lindeus on a 35-yard strike, followed by a 30-yard Edvin Jönsson field goal. CB Eric Murphy’s 35-yard pick-six and another Hjalmar Gertsson interception — returned 48 yards — fueled a 37-0 halftime lead.

Second-half execution
Örebro’s backups extended the margin in the third quarter, with Ekberg threading a 47-yard TD to WR Trevor Vasey. Griffins QBs Samuel Jämthammar (2 ints) and Isak Lundqvist (1 int) had a rough day and mustered just 61 total yards (11 rushing) against a relentless Black Knights defense.

Limhamn’s struggles
The Griffins failed to cross midfield until the fourth quarter, with starting QB Emil Håkansson benched after three INTs. Rookie Lundqvist’s debut offered little relief, as Örebro’s front seven logged 4 sacks and 9 tackles for loss.
The Black Knights remain unbeaten, showcasing championship-caliber depth ahead of their Week 5 clash with the Tyresö Royal Crowns. Limhamn, meanwhile, faces urgent questions after a second straight blowout loss.
