The final regular season stats from Sweden’s six team Superserien, produced few changes in the final two games of the year. The Carlstad Crusaders topped the passing and receiving stats while Uppsala had the rushing and tackling leaders. Still, the stats lists were dominated by the top four teams, the Örebro Black Knights, Carlstad Crusaders, Stockholm Mean Machines and Uppsala 86ers.
Passing
Carlstad Crusaders QB Philip Juhlin finished as the top quarterback in the league in Sweden after Carlstad marched through the schedule with an undefeated record. He added 356 yards in his last two game giving him 2,550 yards passing and 36 TD passes. This is the third year in a row he has won the passing yardage title. He finished as the passing leader in 2016 and 2015 as well. Anders Hermodsson of the Stockholm Mean Machines finished 2nd with his 1,751 yards. Örebro Black Knights quarterback Corbin Lawler wound up 3rd with 1,256 yards and a 2nd best 20 TDs. Limhamn Griffins’ Danish QB Crhristian Lisby has finished the season with 1,256 yards, good for 4th. Kiernan McDonagh of the Uppsala 86ers was the 5th leading passer throwing for 718 yards despite missing much of the season due to injury.
Receiving
Carlstad Crusaders Jacob Dahre finished as the top receiver in Sweden after a strong second half of the season winding up with 833 yards receiving and 17 TDs. Teammate Marcus Johnson finished in 2nd with 818 yards while, Michael Sander of the Stockholm Mean Machines recovered from his injury, helping Stockholm win the final two games of the year. He ended up 3rd with 665 yards and 4 TDs. Austrialian Blake Marklew from the Uppsala 86ers moved up and finished 4th with 472 yards and Orebro Black Knights Jonatan Gihl climbed up to finish the year 5th with 468 yards.
Rushing
Uppsala 86ers speedy running back Victor St Pierre Laviolette came on strong in the final two games of the year to retake the rushing lead finishing with 761 yards rushing and 9 TDs. Örebro Black Knights leading rusher, Kasper Wedberg wound up 2nd with 621 yards and a league-leading 11 rushing TDs. Wedberg’s Black Knights teammate, Marcus Hudritsch wound up 3rd with 517 yards. Tyresö Royal Crowns Aslan Zetterberg came on strong and ended up 4th with 501 yards while Carlstad running back Christian Forsman had 438 yards rushing and 8 TDs finishing 5th.
Tackles
Uppsala 86ers Joshua Akena finished the year where he started as the leading tackler in the Swedish Superserien winding up with 49 tackles. Tyresö linebacker Erik Rauge jumped up into 2nd with his 49 total tackles while Christian Kuylenstjerna of the Carlstad Crusaders, an anchor in the best defense in the league wound up 3rd with 46.5 tackles. w Jalani Philips of the Limhamn Griffins dropped down to 4th with 46 tackles and newcomer to the list with a strong showing to finish the year is Max Lindvall, the 5th leading tackler with 40.
