Sweden: Offensive stats leader list has representation from all 8 teams

With the Swedish Superien seven game regular season is at a close and the Quarterfinal Playoffs about to kick off, let’s take a look at the top players on offense.

An earlier list was posted but unfortunately some game stats had not been submitted on time so this is a revised edition including all the games. We apologize to the players who were left off the first list.

It’s no surprise that Carlstad Crusaders quarterback Slade Jarman topped the leaderboard in both yardage (1,956) and touchdown passes (24) as the Crusaders finished the season undefeated, but Örebro Black Knights pivot Trevor Vasey was not far behind with his 1,877 yards. Kasper Wedberg of the Stockholm Mean Machines was the leading rusher while Carlstad’s Young Kennedy was second but had the biggest single game of the year rushing for 167 yards against the Tyresö Royal Crowns in Carlstad’s 24-21 win on April 20. Royal Crowns QB Jared Heywood had the best single game passing when he threw for 459 yards in the 47-29 victory over the Black Knights on May 11. Not surprisingly, Royal Crowns WR Joshua Hicks had the best single game performance of any receiver in the league on that same day catching 9 passes for 224 yards and 3 TDs.

Carlstad led all teams with five players represented among the top 15 offensive stats leaders with the Roya Crowns next with three. The Oslo Vikings have two players on the list while the Stockholm Mean Machines, Örebro Black Knights, Limhamn Griffins, Kristianstad Predators and AIK Stockholm all had one each.

Carlstad’s Slade Jarman led all passers with 1,956 yards and 24 touchdown passes. He was followed by Trevor Vasey from the Black Knights who threw for 1,877 yards 17 touchdowns, In third was Royal Crowns QB Jared Heywood with 1,669 yards and 22 TD passes. Oslo QB CJ Fowler finished with 1,238 yards and 15 TDs, good for 4th while Myron Norfleet from the Kristianstad Predators slid into 5th late with 965 yards and 9 TDs.

Mean Machines RB Kasper Wedberg is again the leading rusher in the Superserien despite switching teams in the offseason. The former Örebro Black Knight rushed for 519 yards and 8 TDs on 81 carries. This is Wedberg’s 3rd rushing title. He won it in 2017 and 2023 with the Black Knights. Carlstad RB Young Kennedy burst onto the scene this year rushing for 479 yards and 5 TDs to finish 2nd among all running backs while Edgar Wallén from AIK wound up 3rd with 402 yards and 1 TD. Oslo Vikings RB Rune Nilsen wound up 4th. He rushed for 396 yards and 3 TDs while Alexander Nesic of the Limhamn Griffins was the 5th leading rusher with 354 yards and 5 TDs.

Royal Crowns WR Kevin Börzsei was the league leader in 2024 hauling in 39 passes for 660 yards and 7 TDs. Crusaders Dutch WR Willem Van Compernolle wasn’t far behind with 44 receptions for 540 yards and a league-best 9 TDs. Canadian WR Joshua Hicks from the Royal Crowns wound up 3rd with 16 catches for 524 yards and 6 TDs. Hicks only saw action in 4 games although he was on the roster for 6. Kristian Natunen (521 yds/6 TDs) and Albin Forsman (497/4 TDs) from the Crusaders finished 4th and 5th respectively.
