After six weeks of play in Italy’s Division I, the Lazio Ducks still have the leading passer in the league as Hans Fortune continues to lead all quarterbacks. But the Milano Seamen have climbed up into more categories as they catch up to the rest of the league in number of games played.
The Bolzano Giants and Firenzi Guelfi each have five total representatives in the four categories followed by the Seamen and Ducks who have three each and the Milano Rhinos with two. The Parma Panthers and Bergamo Lions have one player each.
The Milano Seamen lead the league standings with a 5-0 record followed by the 4-0 Parma Panthers, 4-2 Bolzano Giants and the surprise so far, the Guelfi who are also 4-2 and in fourth.
Passing
Lazio Ducks QB Hans Fortune still tops Division I in Italy 1,196 yards passing and 11 TDs in six games. Luke Zahradka from the Milano Seamen is catching up and now has 1,137 in five games as well as la league-leading 18 TD passes. Jon Brown of the Bolzano Giants is in 3rd with 989 yards and 17 TDs while Tony Dawson from the Guelfi has dropped to 4th with 856 yards. Milano Rhinos QB Kevin Ellison has climbed up into 5th with 804 yards.
Rushing
Firenzi Guelfi QB Tony Dawson is not only among the top passers but is also now the leading rusher with 471 yards in four games. Lazio Ducks RB Mike Gentili has slipped to 2nd gaining 410 yards while scoring 8 TDs on the ground. Next up is Parma Panthers Alessandro Malpeli Avali who has 366 yards rushing in 4 games. Bergamo Lions young QB Andrea Fimiani is 4th with 350 yards while Giants QB Jon Brown is 5th with 330 yards.
Receiving
Milano Seamen ace WR Xavier Mitchell has jumped up in to the top spot among all receivers in Italy with 469 yards in five games. Lazio Ducks WR Paolo Biancalana has stayed in 2nd with 437 yards while Bolzano’s Mark Simone is 3rd with 415 yards and 9 TDs. Stefano Di Tunisi, from the Milano Seamen has advanced to 4th with 400 yards while Firenzi’s Mike Vanucci is in 5th with 360 yrds.
Tackles
The Firenzi Guelfi defense has played a huge part in their unbeaten record so far this year with LB Nicholas Holshee still leading the way with 37 tackles to top the league. Milano Rhinos Matt Conroy has moved up to 2nd with 33.5 while Holshoe’s teammate Martin Marcacci is 3rd with 31 tackles. Paolo Ricchiuti from the Bolzano Giants remains in 4th with 30 tackles while Dejvion Steward also of the Giants has risen to 5th with 29.5.
