Madrid’s Osos Rivas cruised to a comfortable 41-0 win over the host Fuengirola Potros (0-3) Sunday to stay unbeaten with a 4-0 record in the only game played in the Spanish National American Football League, LNFA, this past weekend.
With the win, Osos Rivas sit atop the West standings while the Potros remain in the basement.
It took the Osos Rivas a quarter to get rolling but then they made it look easy after that, rolling over the Potros in a game that had been postponed from the second week of the season. New starting quarterback Rodney Brown looked sharp tossing three touchdown passes, two to Alejandro Tizón and one to Ivan Iordanov. Backup quarterback Sergio Barbero threw one with Jorge Martin on the receiving end while running back Alejandro Vaquero added a rushing score. Defensive back Rodrigo Gardeta also found the end zone on a pick six.
Osos came out cautiously with a touchdown in the first quarter but Tizón then broke the game open with both his touchdowns in the second stanza giving his team a 21-0 halftime lead. The visitors from Madrid kept up the pressure in the second half with three more touchdowns.
The LNFA returns to a full schedule of games in the final weekend of February.
