Spain: Murcia Cobras sign former top Div. III QB Robert Cuda
The Murcia Cobras who play in the Spanish League of American Football’s top division, have signed quarterback Robert Cuda for the 2021 season.
The Cobras were 2019 semifinalists in Spain and finished the COVID-19 shortened season with a 2-3 record.
Cuda spent the 2019 season playing for the Munich Cowboys II team in the German Regional League, South helping them to a 6-4 record.
The 24 year old, 6’1″, 198 pound Cuda from Bartlett, Illinois had an outstanding career at Case Western Reserve University (NCAA Div. III) throwing for 7,883 yards and 77 touchdowns while rushing for 2,128 yards and another 27 scores. He was named offensive player of the year by the University Athletics Association two years running, 2016 and 2017 while leading the Spartans to the Conference Championship in both those years. He was also named the Presidents Athletic Conference (PAC) Offensive Player of the Year in 2017.
