Spain: Las Rozas Black Demons stay unbeaten with solid win over Osos Rivas

The Las Rozas Black Demons used a strong second half to defeat arch rivals, Osos Rivas, 17-7 this past weekend and remain unbeaten as the Spanish National League of American Football passed the midpoint of the season.
Trailing 7-3 early in the third quarter, the Black Demons, led by Canadian quarterback Theo Landers, rallied, scoring two unanswered touchdowns to come away with the win.
Las Rozas took a 3-0 lead early in the second quarter on a 29 yard field goal from the toe of Antonio Sarria and that’s the way the half ended.
Osos Rivas came out on the opening drive of the second half on fire. Quarterback Norman Douglas marched his team down to the Black Demons seven yard line and then connected with wide receiver Ricky Johns for the go ahead touchdown.
The Black Demons responded on the very next possession as Landers orchestrated a 56 yard drive capping it himself with a four yard touchdown to retake the lead, 10-7.
The Las Rozas defense then rose up stopping Osos on a critical fourth and two. Landers and the Black Demons offense took over after the punt on their own 10 yard line. Behind the punishing running of Gonzalo Haro and Landers pinpoint passing, Las Rozas advanced down to the Osos five yard line. Landers pounded the ball in himself to extend the lead to 17-7.
With little time left on the clock, Osos Rivas could not advance past midfield and after a punt, the Black Demons took over deep in their own end. Haro finished the game with a 30 yard scamper as the whistle blew to end the contest.
With the win, Las Rozas move to 5-0 in the LNFA West with three games left in the regular season. Oso Rivas fell to 3-2.
