Spain: Final weekend of regular season features key playoff-deciding matchup

The Spanish National League of American Football, LNFA, heads into the final weekend of play in the 2023 regular season with one playoff berth still up for grabs.

The Mallorca Voltors head to Barcelona to face the Badalona Dracs in a game that will decide the Voltors‘ playoff fate. Meanwhile the Gijon Mariners and Alcobendas Cavaliers will try to finish the season with a win. The Coslada Camioneros will be aiming to make their fans happy when they host Osos Rivas. They put a scare into the Madrid team earlier so this game could go either way.

Saturday, April 1

Alcobendas Cavaliers (1-6) @ Gijon Mariners (2-5)

The Alcobendas Cavaliers will play host to the Gijon Mariners as both teams will try to end the season on a winning note. The Mariners defeated Alcobendas 40-20 back on February 18 but the team has improved since then and could surprise.

Mallorca Voltors (4-3) @ Badalona Dracs (7-0)

The Badalona Dracs will host Mallorca in a do or die game for the visitors. Will the Dracs want to keep their unbeaten streak intact? Mallorca needs a win to clinch the fourth and final playoff berth in the LNFA.

Sunday, April 2

Osos Rivas (5-2) @ Coslada Camioneros (2-5)

Osos Rivas will be looking to improve their record to 6-2 and head into the playoffs on the winning note when they visit Cosloada on Sunday. The Camioneros pushed Osos Rivas to the limit the last time these two teams met earlier in the season with the Madrid team edging Coslada 7-3.
