Spain: Badalona Dracs sign Princeton Tigers/Austin Peay DB Mike Ruttlen Jr
The Badalona Dracs have announced the signing of former Princeton University and Austin Peay State University defensive back Michael Ruttlen for the 2025 Spanish National American Football League season.
The 5-9, 195 pound native of Mount Juliet, Tennessee spent the 2023 season with the Austin Peay State University Governors (NCAA, Div. I, FCS) playing in all 12 games, starting 11 at safety. He recorded 65 tackles in helping the Governors to a 9-3 record and a berth in the FCS Playoffs. He was named to the UAC All-Academic Team and the CSC Academic All-District Team that same year.
From 2019-2022, Ruttlen Jr. played for the Princeton University Tigers (NCAA, Div. I, FCS) amassing 67 tackles, five interceptions and eight pass breakups in 27 games. He was a First Team All-Ivy selection in 2022.
The Dracs finished the 2024 regular season in Spain unbeaten with an 8-0 record but were eliminated by eventual champions, the Las Rozas Black Demons, in the semifinals.
