The Badalona Dracs of Spain’s Liga Nacional de Fútbol Americano, have signed linebacker Patrick Kenney.
With the addition of Kenney, the defending champion Dracs have fortified an already strong defense as they look to repeat in the upcoming LNFA season.
Kenney is thrilled to join the Spanish powerhouse:
“It feels amazing to be part of the Dracs. I can’t wait to get to Spain and start this next chapter of my football journey! Hopefully, I can play a part in bringing another championship to Badalona.”
The 6’1″, 230-pound linebacker spent the last two seasons playing for the Alberhausen Crusaders in southern Germany. The hard-hitting linebacker made his European debut playing for the Ljubljana Silverhawks in the Austrian Football League back in 2018. As a member of the Silverhawks Kenney led the team making 62.5 tackles and four sacks in eight games.
The Camarillo, California native was a standout at Bryant University (NCAA D1 FCS) before beginning his international career. During his four seasons with the Bulldogs, Kenney amassed 251 tackles, 20 tackles for a loss, four interceptions, three and a half sacks, and five fumble recoveries. His play did not go unnoticed as Kenney earned all NEC honors his junior and senior seasons.
Expect Kenney and the Dracs defense to be competing for another championship as the LNFA and its talented teams gear up for another exciting season, kicking off this January.
