Six-time Serbian champions, SBB Vukovi Belgrade, have signed quarterback Khari Vercher for the 2018 season.

The 24 year old, 6’1″, 205 lb native of Los Angeles, California finished his college career at Tiffin University (Ohio, NCAA Div. II). Prior to that he spent a season at American River College where he played in 11 career games, completing 172 passes for 2,534 yards and 23 touchdowns. Vercher also rushed for three touchdowns. He originally attended Sacramento State after graduating from Bishop Mora Salesian high school in Los Angeles where he threw for 9,347 yards and rushed for another 2,963 yards.

Vukovi reached the Serbian semifinals in 2017 losing to the Novi Sad Dukes.

Head coach Malik Jackson:

“I am delighted that we have Keri Vercher as our new quarterback. He was recommended by one of my former teammates and I was lucky enough to know many of his former coaches from Sacramento, and each of them spoke with enthusiasm about his leadership abilities. He is the perfect choice to lead our offense this season and in the event that the game is at the turning point, I’m sure he will know what to do with the ball. We are trying to assemble the best team, which requires good chemistry. Not only was he a true team player, he was also a very good person.”

Kari Vercher is the second import to join SBB Vukovi for the new season. The first was Josh Hartigan.
