Serbian Title Holders the Kragujevac Wild Boars Sign CB Allen Ramsey
Serbia’s 2016 title winning Kragujevac Wild Boars have reinforced their secondary in 2017 by signing cornerback Allen Ramsey (Wake Forest/Hampton).
Ramsey, 6′, 195 lb from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, played three years at Wake Forest (NCAA Div. I) before transferring to Hampton (NCAA Div. I) for his senior year in 2015.
The Wild Boars regained the Serbian crown in 2016 with a resounding victory in the championship final over arch rivals Vukovi Belgrade.
Playing at two Division I schools in Wake Forest and Hampton, Ramsey has competed against some of the toughest receivers in the nation. An exceptional athlete, he will bring a wealth of experience and speed to the Wild Boars secondary.
He is excited about his first experience playing outside of the United States:
“My expectation is to win a repeat championship but also to help people on and off the field become better people at the end of the day because I love to help people. I watched some videos on football in Serbia and it looks just like here in America, fun and exciting so I can’t wait to play. And I can’t wait to learn more things about Serbia . And I found out about the Wild Boars through coach Josh Hepner who contacted me through mutual friends.”
To Allen, this opportunity to play for Kragujevac is extremely important and he really appreciates it:
“People sometimes say ‘If you not having fun why are you doing it’. Basically I’m just thankful for everything cause I know how hard things can be and get and I’m just making the most of it all and having fun while I’m doing it. And ‘if you don’t work you don’t eat’ . In other words, just finding a way to provide for you in your family in a positive way that can impact you and your family.”
