Playing quarterback in place of the injured Myles Gates, David Hanomihl Lukic was outstanding as he shredded the Nis secondary tossing three touchdown passes and running a fourth in himself. His favorite target, receiver Tony Washington scored three touchdowns on passes of 25, 35 and 57 yards.
Mihailo Josović and Marko Baković added a touchdown apiece as the outmatched Imperatori defense had no answer for the Vukovi onslaught.
Novi Sad Dukes 21 – Kragujevac Wild Boars 14
Novi Sad Dukes quarterback Will Powell rushed for two touchdowns and threw for a third as the Dukes outlasted the Kragujevac Wild Boars 21-14.
These two teams have staged many an exciting battle in the Serbian playoffs and this game was no exception.
The Wild Boars took an early 6-0 lead as quarterback Mike Box hit Petra Goico for a nine yard touchdown. However, the Dukes struck back with receiver Kyle Burden hauling in a Mike Powell pass to take a 7-6 halftime lead.
In the third quarter, Powell called his own number from three yards out and extended the Dukes lead to 14-7. Wild Boars running back Michael Novakovic scored on a 25 yard scamper and then also added the two point conversion to even the score at 14-14 entering the fourth quarter.
With the seesaw battle hanging in the balance, and less than three minutes remaining, Powell took over, first taking off on a 50 yard run down to the five yard line and then three plays later taking the ball in himself for the winning touchdown.
