Serbia: SBB Belgrade Vukovi sign DB Devion Young for 2024 season
CEFL and Serbian Prva Liga squad, SBB Belgrade Vukovi are bringing in American safety Devion Young.
Young, a 27 year old Huntsville, Alabama native has been playing in Europe since 2018 when he first joined the Silesia Rebels in Poland. The 6’1, 200-pound safety made an instant impact when he joined the Rebels finishing his first season with 58 total tackles, four interceptions, three forced fumbles and three total touchdowns.
Young has had an interesting journey leading him to his next step in Serbia. After graduating from Buckhorn High School in 2015, he spent one season at Nassau Community College in Long Island, New York. He stayed in the state and transferred to ASA Junior College for one season before joining Kentucky State (NCAA Division II) where he had to sit out the 2017 season due to “eligibility issues.”
As Young looks to settle in at his new home in Serbia, the defensive athlete will not be joining the Belgrade squad as a stranger. Current Vukovi quarterback Ryan Barabe was a teammate of Young’s when they both played for ASA Junior College in 2016.
