The Kragujevac Wild Boars of Serbia have signed American defender Mario McIntyre for the upcoming season.
The versatile defender explained what made him choose the Wild Boars:
“I chose the Wild Boars because the team culture was something I wanted to be a part of. I am also extremely excited to visit and live in Serbia and bring a Serbian Nation Title to the Wild Boars.”
The 6’1″, 220-pound Easton, Pennsylvania native was a multi-sport athlete during his college days wrestling and playing football at Millersville University (NCAA DII). McIntyre then transferred to Stevenson University (NCAA DIII) in Maryland where he became a key part of the Mustangs defense. As a defensive end, he racked up 101 total tackles, 14.5 sacks, and 28 tackles for a loss during his 29-game career at Stevenson. McIntyre broke out his senior year in 2021 making 12.5 sacks and 60 tackles on his way to a first-team all-conference selection. He also served as the team-long snapper.
McIntyre sat down with AFI to answer a few questions about joining the Serbian powerhouse Wild Boars.
