Germany: Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns sign QB Josh Taylor

The Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns have announced that the second half of an explosive offensive duo, quarterback Josh Taylor, has signed for the 2025 German Football League season.

The 6-0, 200-pound, 24 year old native of Mt. Orab, Ohio, spent the 2024 season with the Kuopio Steelers in the Finnish Maple League. Coupled with his all star wide receiver from Mount Saint Joseph University (NCAA Div. III),  and newly signed Unicorns wide receiver, Austin Brock, Taylor helped Kuopio reach the Maple League semifinals after throwing for 1,493 yards and 17 touchdowns in just eight games (he missed the last four regular season games due to injury) against only three interceptions. He also rushed for 459 yards and nine scores.

In four years at Mount Saint Joseph, he threw for 7,781 yards and 95 touchdowns and rushed for 2,342 and 42 touchdowns. Of the 7,781 yards, 1,607 yards and 17 touchdowns were thrown to Brock. In his senior season (2023) he was number one in the nation in passing touchdowns (45), points responsible (312), 10th in passing yards and 20th in the country in passing efficiency. That year, he was a semi-finalist for the Gagliardi Trophy (D3’s top individual football award) as well as being named as the HCAC Offensive Player of the Year and also was a 1st-Team All-HCAC Selection.
