Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns sign DE Corey Chapman
The Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns, four-time German Football League champions, have bolstered their already tough defensive line with the signing of former Purdue Boilermaker and Stuttgart Scorpion Corey Chapman.
Chapman has spent that past seven seasons playing for Stuttgart, Unicorns’ rivals in the GFL South.
In other words, Unicorns head coach Jordan Neuman is well aware of what he is getting in Chapman.:
“We know Corey well from two games a year and we have been in contact for several years. Now both our squad and Corey’s ideas have been a good match and I’m really looking forward to seeing him soon in a Unicorns jersey.”
The 33 year old, 6’2″, 260 pound Chapman from Indianapolis, Indiana has amassed 246 tackles, 79 tackles for loss and 43 sacks in his seven years with the Scorpions. He helped Stuttgart reach the GFL playoffs three times but now is looking forward to suiting up for his former rivals.
“The Unicorns have a great tradition and are a strong representative of European football. I want to give everything to the team and I want to help create the strongest defensive line in Europe and win the German Bowl. “
Neuman believes that Chapman brings more than just his on-field skills to Schwäbisch Hall:
“Corey is a strong leader with a lot of character. I am very confident that he will find his role in the team and be a strong addition to our squad.”
