Moses Skillon to Lead Bron Falcons for 1st season in France’s Top League
Quarterback Moses Skillon joins the D2 French champions Bron Falcons for their 1st season in France top league.
NEW YORK, NEW YORK – Moses Skillon will lead the offense of the Bron-Villeurbanne Falcons out of Lyon, France. This is the Falcons first season in France top American football division, the Casque de Diamant Championnat, after the club won France’s second division title in 2016.
Skillon is fresh out of a 2015 season with Morgan State University where he started every contest last fall for the Bears. A threat on the ground and in the air, he accounted for yards totaling 2,036 passing and rushing and 12 combined touchdowns.
Julien Urgenti, Falcons spokesperson:
“We heard about Moses through Xavier Mas and Global Pro Atheletes, When we recruit import players, we are more interested in their intangibles. We want to bring good people to our organization. Throughout the years we’ve brought in an NCAA D1 fourth string quarterback, two starting D2 quarterbacks, as well as one from the NAIA. All were great guys on and off the field. Moses will bring us the versatility we think we need. The past three years our import quarterback were more pocket passers.”
Urgenti’s expects his imports to make an impact for the Falcons.
“We have one of the best French running backs with Brice Rontet. Rontete and Moses can create some damage. We expect our guys to represent the game with utmost professionalism and want them to help teach our youth teams and help the staff in anyway they count. Obviously, as import players they also must be playmakers.”
When asked how we can expect his club team to perform and compete in the top French league, Urgenti confirmed it will be an uphill battle.
“As a team we want to prove everyone we belong to French Elite Division. It will be a hard fight obviously as the South Conference will be tough. We will fight till the end with our weapons, our hearts, our soul. It’s the first time we play in the big league. We do not want to be one and done.”
Skillon and the Bron-Villeurbanne Falcons will begin their first 2017 Casque de Diamant campaign in January.
