Belgium’s Brussels Black Angels Seek Top Seed Against Limburg Shotguns
This Sunday, the Brussels Black Angels and head coach Derys Romuald will face the Limburg Shotguns in Belgium and look to set in stone their playoff future.
The still undefeated Black Angels are still in the running for the top seed in the FAFL. A win gives them right to a bye week on wild-card weekend. Although the Shotguns are in the midst of a losing streak since their victory against the Antwerp Diamonds, and will do everything in their power to win this one at home.
After two games away, quarterback Rob Hermans reappears under center for the Shotguns. He will be helped by a big offensive line which features two members of the national team, the Belgian Barbarians: Seppe Claes and Hans Gijsel.
Even though their starting quarterback returns the Shotguns are still troubled by injuries. Because of the amount of absentees most Shotguns will have to play both ways. With a deeper 40-man roster and no significant injuries the Black Angels do not have a problem.
On offense the Black Angels will look to their playmakers. Kevin Noel will start under center for Brussels aided by his offensive line with stars Bart Meys and Reda Vranken. Together with his top target Thomas Bouron and running backs Rudi Housni and Brian de Caluwé, Noel will shoot to score over fifty points for the third time this season. The Shotguns defense features Americans Charles Roundtree (safety) and Zac Martin (defensive end), and linebacker Michel Eeman.
The Limburg Shotguns will miss their running back and dangerous return man Calico Griffiths, and will look to rookie Dennis Baptist on most of the snaps. Quarterback Rob Hermans can count on a strong offensive line and Charles Roundtree at wide receiver. The Shotguns offense will be challenged by a great Brussels defense led by an awesome safety duo. Quentin Mees and Hadrien Godichal will focus on the Roundtree while linebacker Benjamin Dosunmu will be called to plug up the Limburg running game.
Game will be played on the field of the Limburg Shotguns (Stalsesteenweg 66, Beringen), kick-off at 3p CET!
