Today:
DENMARK
[su_dropcap]T[/su_dropcap]his team from the Dansk Amerikansk Fodbold Forbund (DAFF), recently promoted from the B-Group, is the great unknown of this tournament. The Danes defeated Serbia and then fought valiantly in Italy and managed a surprising final defeat over the host Italians in the Group B European Championship last July. Denmark is a force to be reckoned with in flag football, and is an up and coming American Football nation who should not be underestimated.
According the the DAFF, all 2014 preparations for the Denmark A-team have been focused on one task – the 2014 European Championships! This is the biggest stage Team Denmark has ever played on. This is the first time that the Danish Football Federation participates in the European Championships for the A-team.
Denmark is part of Group B along with France and host country Austria. They will play their first round in Graz, Austria and their schedule is as follows:
- May 31st 7pm: Austria vs. Denmark
- June 2nd 7pm: Denmark vs. France
- June 4th 7pm: France vs. Austria
From Danish Head Coach Lars Carsen:
“Let’s come together to make the best national team ever, so we can show the world how far football has come in Denmark, and how well that worked out in the clubs and the League of Nations.
The expected itinerary for A national team is leaving Denmark Monday, May 26 and returning Sunday, June 8, as they plan to camp in Austria in the days before the tournament starts.
