Premier Football Skills Camp Heading to Vienna in August
The Growth of a Game will host an American football camp in Austria for the first time ever from August 12th-14th, 2016 in Vienna.
The Growth of a Game Vienna Skills Camp will be an annual camp with the intent to improve the level of players and coaches from around the region. Players and coaches from all across Europe will visit Vienna for the camp.
In alignment with its primary mission, The Growth of a Game organizes a series of annual developmental camps across Europe in an effort to facilitate the development of American football.
The Growth of a Game Vienna Skills Camp will be led by several of the top coaches in Europe, including Daniel Levy, head coach for the Warsaw Eagles in Poland; Geoff Buffum, head coach for the Calanda Broncos in Switzerland; Kim Ewé, head coach for the Castelfranco Cavaliers in Italy; Eoin O’Sullivan, offensive line coach for the Warsaw Eagles; Matheus Dias, defensive coordinator for the Warsaw Eagles; Alexandre Braga, defensive backs coach for the Warsaw Eagles, Luke Zahradka, quarterback for the Prague Black Panthers, and more.
The camp will focus on skill development for all players 15 and over. Players of all positions are welcome and a maximum of 120 camp roster spots are available. In addition to player development, the coaching staff will also be providing instruction to beginner and intermediate coaches in the form of on-field work, film study, and a private coaching clinic. Players and coaches from as many as 15 countries will be present.
BSFZ Südstadt is the preferred accommodation for the camp and is located at the sports facility. Reservations for the BSFZ Südstadt can be made directly via the sign-up page. Accommodation includes 6 meals and a bed from Friday through Sunday in a 2-bed room. Players and coaches have the choice to skip accommodation if it is not needed.
Player fees for the 2-day camp are €99, while coaches fees are €79.
Camp t-shirts will be included in the sign-up cost for players and will be provided during registration. Players will wear t-shirts, shorts, and football cleats – no shoulder pads or helmets.
Vienna, one of the most beautiful and accessible cities in Europe, is also an epicenter for American football. The camp gives players and coaches an opportunity to be around some of the top competition in European football.
