Wroclaw Panthers mean business with the signing of Marcus Sims
Marcus Sims (University of South Dakota), the leading rusher and scorer in Germany in 2014, has signed with the Wroclaw Panthers of the Polish top division – the Top Liga.
Sims was a huge factor in the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns’ drive to the German Bowl this past year. He rushed for 2,557 yards (279 carries, 9.2 yards/carry) for an 159.8 yards per game average and scored a league-leading 42 touchdowns. At South Dakota he was the Coyote’s leading running back in his final two years and was one of the team’s leading kick returners. He was voted Offensive MVP in 2012.
Panthers Head Coach Nick Johansen:
“We could not be more happy with the quality of man and player we have obtained in Marcus Sims. His resume speaks for itself with a great college career and leading the GFL in rushing and scoring last season. Marcus brings a very explosive playing style to our fans here in Wroclaw and Poland and fits the offensive scheme perfectly.“
