Poland’s Gdynia Seahawks who play in the Liga Futbolu Amerykańskiego, have snagged the top quarterback in Sweden with the signing of Philip Juhlin from the Carlstad Crusaders.
A Tennessee native, the 6’1″, 210 lb 27 year old Juhlin has spent the past three seasons leading the Carlstad Crusaders to two Swedish titles and an overall record in Sweden of 33-1. The only game the Crusaders lost during Juhlin’s time as quarterback was the Swedish final last year. In the past two regular seasons in Sweden, he has thrown for 4,730 yards and 65 touchdowns.
He is also the Swedish national team quarterback and led Sweden to a fourth place finish in the 2018 IFAF European Championships.
Prior to signing with Carlstad, Juhlin was behind center for the Kristianstad Predators throwing for more than 2,500 yards and 30 touchdowns in 2015. The Swedish-American, who plays with a dual passport first helped the Predators advance to Sweden’s Super Series, the top league in Sweden, and was named Rookie of the Year in his first season as well as league’s Top Quarterback as a rookie.
