Phillip Juhlin Returns to Play Football in Sweden for Kristianstad

Sweden’s Kristianstad Predators, semifinalists in 2014, received a late Christmas gift as national team quarterback Philip Juhlin has decided to return to Sweden to play and has re-signed with the club.

Juhlin was a key to the Sweden’s national team.

Juhlin had an outstanding season in 2014, his third in Sweden. The American Swedish quarterback – Read the feature on Juhlin from Maryville, Tennessee, in AFI from earlier this year – threw for 3,002 yards and 27 touchdowns. He completed 244 of 439 passes giving him a 55.6 percentage and he averaged 300.2 yards per game.

He was named the Rookie of the Year in Sweden’s Super Series in 2013 and also Top Quarterback in the league.

Juhlin helped Kristianstad to the playoffs in 2014

“I am ready to get back to Sweden and start coaching the Kristianstad Under 13 team and also get ready for the 2015 season with the Predators.” says Juhlin who is home in Tennessee for a few months. ” We have made huge progress over the past three seasons and our next goal is winning the championship, and I want to be a part of that this coming season.”

Head coach Jon Walker, who recently re-signed with the club himself, which may have been what sparked Juhlin’s decision, is naturally delighted:

“I am extremely happy that Phil decided to re-sign with the Predators for the 2015 season. He is an excellent quarterback, a great teammate, and fun to coach. He has improved every season and I don’t think 2015 will be an exception. The creativity he brings to the offense is invaluable. As long as Phil is our quarterback, the Predators are and will be a threat to any team.”
