NFL kicks off first of 5 international games as Atlanta Falcons face the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium
The National Football League kicks off the first of five games in its international series on Sunday, October 1 in the UK and Europe as the Atlanta Falcons and Jacksonville Jaguars clash at Wembley Stadium in London.
The series continues October 8 with a game between the Jaguars and the Buffalo Bills at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The third and final game in the UK, also to be played at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, features the Baltimore Ravens and Tennessee Titans who play on October 15.
The series heads to Frankfurt Stadium in Germany for two games in November. In the first regular season games to ever be played at Frankfurt Stadium, the Miami Dolphins will take on the Kansas City Chiefs on November 5 while a week later on November 12 the Indianapolis Colts will take on the New England Patriots.
Since the 1960s, a total of 104 NFL games including preseason and regular season, have been played outside of the United States with the majority having taken place in the United Kingdom (42). Toronto has hosted a total of 15 NFL games while Tokyo has been the site of 13 and Mexico City 11.
