NFL: Best Players Right Now
American football fans are fortunate enough to watch some of the finest athletes on the planet compete every week. The NFL is littered with record-breaking superstars. We all know that quarterbacks and wide receivers get most of the glory, but let’s take a moment to remember the defensive players who break up play and stop the opposition from scoring.
As the new season begins, we want to analyze some of the best players in the game right now. Naturally, we can’t list every single superstar because there are too many of them. For that reason, we’ll cover the best players in several different positions.
Please note that the names below aren’t ranked in any particular order. Each player brings something different to their team and has skills that some of the others don’t.
Quarterbacks
- Tom Brady – This selection needs no explanation. Brady is one of the most influential players in NFL history. He’s won the Super Bowl six times and has been selected as the NFL MVP on several occasions. Despite being 42 years old, he keeps delivering at the highest level. The Pats will struggle to replace him when he finally decides to call it a day.
- Drew Brees – Brees is another veteran who just keeps getting better with age. The number 9 has made twelve Pro Bowl appearances which speak volumes about his ability. The New Orlean Saints will believe that they can make it to the Super Bowl with this man at the helm. According to to Bonusbets.com, he’s also the current NFL completion percentage leader.
Wide Receivers
- Antonio Brown – The controversial New England Patriots wide receiver is one of the most talented players in the NFL. Brown has been selected for the Pro Bowl every year since 2013, and we don’t expect that to stop anytime soon. The Florida-born wide man was also the receiving touchdowns leader last year. His credentials speak for themselves. Any coach would love to have him in their team.
- Julio Jones – Atlanta Falcons fans have watched Julio Jones set the world alight since 2011. The wide receiver from Alabama is incredibly talented. He’s also the current NFL receiving yards leader. What’s more, Jones has been involved in the Pro Bowl for five consecutive years. We can’t wait to see what he does for the Falcons this season. The Super Bowl is probably just out of their reach, but we wouldn’t write them off just yet.
Defensive Tackle
- Aaron Donald – Donald is the current NFL sacks leader and has been voted as the NFL Defensive Player of the Year for two seasons running. He’s also made five Pro Bowl appearances. We believe there’s more to come. The Rams are among the favorites to win the Super Bowl this year. If Donald stays fits, they’ll have a great chance.
Notable Mentions
There are several other players that we could have listed here including, Todd Gurley, Von Miller, Carson Wentz, and Pat Mahomes. If the players outlined above hit the ground running, expect another epic year of football.
