The NFL has released a list of 44 players attending the October 12th NFL International Combine at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England. These international athletes will be evaluated by NFL scouts for a chance at this year’s NFL International Pathway Program. A program that prepares global athletes for the rigors of joining an NFL team.
“Through the event, we hope to discover new talent, create more global exposure of the game and provide an opportunity for participants to compete at the highest level,” said Damani Leech, NFL chief operating officer of international.
In the past, the NFL International Pathway Program has produced players such as Efe Obada (Buffalo Bills/UK), Jordan Mailata (Philadelphia Eagles/Australia), Sammis Reyes (Washington Football Team/Chile), and Jakob Johnson (New England Patriots/Germany).
The combine’s invitation list features athletes from 15 different countries including Great Britain, Belgium, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, France, Nigeria, Austria, Slovakia, Italy, Switzerland, Japan, Finland, Sweden, and Hungary.
Following the international combine, a number of athletes who show the potential to play in the NFL will be invited to train in the United States for three months as part of the pathway program. That group will be reduced again following the training phase. Following the 2022 NFL Draft, some players will be allocated to NFL teams for the 2022 season.
The NFL previously hosted international combines in Australia in 2018 and in Germany in 2019. The NFL will also be conducting another combine in Mexico later in October for athletes unable to travel to the United Kingdom because of current COVID-19 travel restrictions.

Three former NFL IPP participants seem to be vying for another chance, as defensive linemen Leonel Misangumkini, Yoann Miangue, and Adedayo Odeleye were all part of the NFL IPP program in 2021, but were not allocated to NFL teams. Now, these three and 41 other global athletes will compete to impress the scouts and be selected as part of this year’s elite group of international athletes.
