The newest member of the European League of Football, the Munich Ravens, have announced that recently retired MVP of the European League of Football, former Tirol Raiders quarterback Sean Shelton, will be the new ELF franchise’s Director of Sports Operations.
The 31-year-old Shelton just wound up his ninth (and final) season in Europe leading the Tirol Raiders to the ELF semifinals, earning his eighth MVP award in a career in Europe spanning three teams, six domestic and five pan-continental championship titles. Playing with the Elancourt Templiers (France) in 2014, Helsinki Roosters (Finland) also in 2014, and finally the Swarco (Tirol) Raiders (Austria, ELF) from 2015 to 2022, Shelton has maintained a level of excellence and consistency rarely found. He has thrown for more than 33,000 yards and 446 touchdowns over the course of his career including 3,3135 yards and 40 scores in his final season in the ELF.
The native of Palm Harbor, Florida and graduate of William Jewell College (NCAA Div. II) now embarks on a new chapter in his life. As Director of Sports Operations, he will be responsible for building up the sporting infrastructure of the Munich Ravens. He is definitely looking forward to the challenge:
“I am thrilled to be part of such an exciting project. With the pool of talented players in Bavaria and the leadership within the Munich Ravens organization, the franchise will provide players with a unique environment in which to play football.”
Sebastian Stolz, General Manager of the Munich Ravens:
“We are very happy to welcome Sean Shelton on board. For many years he has been the best quarterback in Europe, which he proved once again impressively this past season with in the European League of Football. His leadership qualities, his passion for our sport and his network and standing within the football community will help the Munich Ravens to build a competitive football team from the start.”
