According to a story by the NFL’s Chase Goodbread, and as tweeted by Pro Kick Australia’s Nathan Chapman, University of Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh is taking his controversial satellite camp concept overseas this year.

The Wolverines coaching staff will be holding a satellite camp on June 3 in Melbourne, Australia. Harbaugh began scheduling his camps in the United States more than a year ago and they have created a stir in college football.
The NCAA Division 1 Council initially banned them about a month ago after criticism from the SEC. However, the NCAA Board of Directors overturned the decision declaring the camps permissible. Since then, more satellite camps from a variety of schools, including the SEC, have begun to spring up
Although it is not certain that Harbaugh will be in Australia himself, this is a clear indication that international recruiting in college sports is gaining prominence, especially after the drafting of German receiver Moritz Boehringer by the Minnesota Vikings in the 2016 NFL Draft.
The Wolverines, who apparently have planned another 15-25 camps, are also exploring the possibility of holding satellite camps in Samoa and Hawaii according to The Detroit News.
