Miami Dolphins re-sign Brazilian Durval Queiroz Neto
The Miami Dolphins have re-signed Brazilian lineman Durval Queiroz Neto to the 90 man roster.
As part of the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program, the 6’4″, 330 pound 27-year-old native of Cuiabá, Brazil joined the Dolphins in 2019. After training camp, Queiroz was added to the 90 man roster.
NFL clubs can choose to use an international player practice squad exemption, which would allow for an 11th member.
According to NFL.com, players have trained alongside NFL veterans and draft hopefuls in Florida under the supervision of IMG Academy coaches, including running back coach Earnest Byner, offensive line coach Paul Dunn, linebackers coach Pepper Johnson and wide receiver coach Larry Kirksey.
In 2018, Queiroz helped the Galo FA win the Brazilian championship repeating his performance from the year before when his team, Cuiaba Arsenal reached the semifinals. He started playing football in his hometown of Cuiaba and with him anchoring the defense, the Arsenal reached the national semifinal three straight years. He was a member of the Brazilian national team and in 2017 won the Salao Oval Award, given to the nation’s top defensive lineman.
Queiroz holds a degree in Agronomic Engineering and is also a Brazilian judo champion.
