Aztecas UDLAP win back-to-back CONADIEP title’s; continue to dominate Mexican private college football

On November 22nd, the Aztecs De La Universidad De Las Americas Puebla (UDLAP) claimed the CONADEIP Premier title as they beat the Borregos Toluca 17-14 in a defense heavy battle.
The CONADEIP Premier is made of of teams from multi-campus university system of Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education. Formed in 2010, this private university system broke away from the ONEFA, Organización Nacional Estudiantil de Fútbol Americano, and has been competing in their own championship.

The Aztecas UDLAP scored first midway through the first quarter when Eduardo Retana converted on a 26 yard field goal. UDLAP scored again when Norman Contla found his favorite target Robin Gonzalez, for a touchdown. The extra point was good. Aztecas 14 Borregos 0.
Borregos Toluca responded when Ignacio Martinez tossed a touchdown. It only took, five minutes for the Aztecas UDLAP to return to the end-zone when Gonzalez found Diego Yanez for a 9-yard touchdown catch.
The ‘Toluqueños’ brought the score to 17-14 with a touchdown run by Alan Macedo. That was on the first half.
In the 3rd and 4th quarter were 100% defensive, and the final score being the same at the halftime score.
As the game ended around 4:15 pm on Saturday, November 22nd, majestic bells rang in Cholula and the Aztecs UDLAP lifted the trophy as two-time winners of the Liga Premier CONADEIP!
Next weekend on December 13th, a selection of CONADEIP All-Stars with battle a team of American Division III college stars in the Tazon de Estrellas.
