Mexico: LFA – Los Osos de Toluca shock Fundidores for 1st win, Condors, Raptors stay unbeaten
The Osos de Toluca secured the first win in in their brief history Sunday in Mexico’s Liga de Futbol Americano Profesional (LFA) when they scored with seconds to go to defeat the Fundidores 30-29.
After dropping their opening game to the Raptors a week ago, 48-12, and trailing 21-10 at halftime in this game, the Osos dug deep with Daniel Manjarréz scoring on the last play of the game to lift Toluca into the win column.
Wide receiver Julian Crandall hauled in two touchdown passes while Manjarrez scored with no time remaining for the win.
In the second round of play in the LFA, the defending champion Mexicas suffered their second straight defeat as they lost to the Mayas 13-3.
In other action, the Condors downed the surprising Puebla Artilleros 22-15 in the “Temple of Pain” of the University of the Americas of Puebla in front of a crowd of three thousand .
Meanwhile, the Raptors traveled to Saltillo to face the Dinos in the Olympic Stadium and came away with their second consecutive victory, downing the home team 21-7.
