The Tyresö Royal Crowns who finished third in the regular season will host the sixth place Limhamn Griffins in the second of two wild card matchups as the Swedish Superserien heads into the post season.

These two met in early May with the Royal Crowns handing Limhamn a 35-0 beatdown.

Tyresö is coming off a 48-14 loss to the Stockholm Mean Machines in their final regular season game last weekend while the Griffins were 33-20 winners over the Kristianstad Predators which qualified them for the playoffs.

Still, this would seem to be a comfortable win for the home team.

Royal Crowns quarterback Jared Heywood finished as the third leading passer in the Superserien after throwing for 1,669 yards and 22 touchdowns in the seven game regular season. His main target, Kevin Börzsei, is the league’s leading receiver with 39 catches for 660 yards and seven of those touchdowns. The Limhamn secondary will be hard pressed in this game to contain Börzsei with other receivers such as Edvin Almeida Taborda and Alexander Segerfeldt to worry about as well.

For Limhamn, the quarterback position has been a revolving door in ecent games with Ture Nilsson the most recent signal caller in the win against the Predators. Starter Samuel Jämthammar, who threw for 766 yards in five games, has not played since May 11 so it remains to be seen who will be behind center.

The winner of this game will advance to face the Stockholm Mean Machines in the Superserien semifinals
