The La Courneuve Flash (3-0) put their unbeaten streak on the line when the newly-promoted Villepinte Diables Rouges (1-2) take the 30 minute bus ride across Paris on February 22 to face them in the fourth weekend of action in the French D1 Elite league.

La Courneuve edged the defending champion Thonon Black Panthers 6-5 to start the season and then defeated the Molosses 22-12 in Week #2. Last week, the Flash then blanked the Rouen Leopards 34-0.

The Rouges opened the season, their first in France’s top league, by beating the Saint-Ouen Cougars 20-6 but then dropped a narrow 10-8 decision to the defending champion Thonon Black Panthers in Week #2. Last week, however, they were overwhelmed by the Asnieres Molosses 33-7.

This will be the first ever meeting between the two teams.

Interestingly, the Diables Rouges quarterback, Badis Grami, spent part of the 2024 season with the Flash. So this game no doubt has been marked clearly on Grami’s calendar for a long time.
