The Montevideo Troyanos and Montevideo Golden Bulls will battle it out for the Uruguayan – Liga Uruguaya de Futebol Americano (Lufa) – championship title, Saturday, November 7.
The Golden Bulls downed the Emperadores 40-14 in one semifinal while the Troyanos defeated the defending champion Barbarians 16-13 in the other.
This will be the first trip to the final for the Troyanos while the Golden Bulls will be appearing in the Uruguayan title game for the fourth straight year. The Golden Bulls have won the championship in this South American country three times in the past, 2006, 2009 and 2014.

The two teams met once during the regular season with the Golden Bulls coming out on top 21-7 in week 1.
In the Golden Bulls semifinal win, quarterback Luis Terra #7, threw two touchdown passes with tight end # 92 Rodrigo Cancela catching one and wideout # 25 Ignacio Jędrzejewski catching the other. Other touchdowns were scored by defensive back # 11 Federico Poy on a pick six and tailback # 22 Robert Perdomo on a 12 yard run. Poy added his second touchdown of the game on a one yard plunge. Federico Mutter kicked two field goals and four extra points.
Troyanos quarterback # 83 Juan Frechou threw two touchdown passes to wideout # 10 Joaquin Martino in their semifinal victory over the Barbarians while Martino kicked a field goal and one extra point.
With Terra appearing in his fourth championship game, his counterpart, Juan Frechou is playing in his first. And this is where the game could be decided. Terra’s championship experience will be a key factor. He also has multiple weapons while Frechou will be looking for Martino for most of the game.

Still, the Troyanos knocked off the powerhouse Barbarians to reach the final.
This could be a toss up.
