Team Poland has had a busy year and Saturday will be facing its fourth opponent in two months as they welcome the Dutch Lions to Lublin in the final international game for either team this year.
Poland lost to Denmark 37-35 in a game they were leading at halftime and then dropped another close decision to Sweden 28-21 a month ago. Against Team Sweden, Poland had a chance to tie the game late in the contest. Finally Poland suffered a surprising 23-22 loss to Hungary two weeks ago.
The Dutch Lions, Holland’s national team, have been equally busy this year. They played host to Team Ireland in that team’s first ever international game downing them 20-0 in a game which was halted in the third quarter due to lightning. Then Holland played in the European Championship Qualifying tournament in London, England losing to the Czech Republic 20-13 and then defeating Russia 17-6 to capture third place.
The last time these two teams met in 2013, Holland had no problems defeating Team Poland in Warsaw, 37-14.
Poland is preparing for the World Games set for next year in Wroclaw, Poland.
